Momna Sajid, BASc, MACP, RP (Qualifying)

When relationships feel strained, womanhood feels heavy, or your child is struggling, Momna Sajid helps you find a steadier way forward

When the same argument keeps returning, when expectations leave you feeling as though you have disappeared inside your roles, or when your child’s emotions or behaviour are becoming harder to understand, you may know something needs to change without knowing how to begin. Momna Sajid, BASc, MACP, RP (Qualifying), offers a calm, culturally responsive place to slow the situation down, understand what is underneath it, and begin building practical change.

At CARESPACE Hespeler Road, Momna provides counselling in Cambridge for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, burnout, family stress, eating-related concerns, separation, loneliness, and major life transitions. Her practice is comprehensive, while her additional depth in couples counselling, psychotherapy for adult women, and work with children and adolescents makes her especially well suited when relationships, identity, caregiving, or development are part of the picture. You can expect thoughtful questions, clear explanations, and a pace that respects your readiness. Whether you are attending alone, with your partner, or seeking help for your child, the goal is the same: to help you feel understood, more capable, and less alone in what comes next.

Her broad psychotherapy practice is strengthened by particular depth in couples, women’s concerns, and children’s emotional and behavioural needs

Momna Sajid, BASc, MACP, RP (Qualifying), understands distress across the lifespan and across relationships. Her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology supports structured, evidence-based psychotherapy, while her background in applied psychology, human behaviour, family therapy, crisis support, and behavioural intervention helps her notice both the emotional story and the patterns that keep it going. That breadth matters when one concern is tied to several others—when anxiety affects a relationship, when cultural expectations shape self-worth, or when a child’s behaviour reflects stress within school or family life.

In addition to general psychotherapy, Momna brings particular depth to work with couples, adult women, children, adolescents, and families. She offers therapy in English and Urdu, and her culturally responsive approach creates space for identity, family roles, cultural expectations, and community pressures when they are meaningful to you. Rather than forcing your experience into a preset formula, she helps you develop language for what is happening and a plan that feels realistic, respectful, and usable.

You will be heard without judgment, assessed thoughtfully, and given a plan that fits your life rather than a one-size-fits-all formula

Your first conversations with Momna are designed to help you feel safe enough to be honest and clear enough to know what you are working toward. She begins with a careful intake, explores your strengths and current stressors, and works with you to identify goals that can guide future sessions. When useful, she may draw on validated measures related to anxiety, depression, hopelessness, or adverse experiences, not to reduce you to a score but to sharpen understanding and track meaningful change.

Her counselling approach may integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), solution-focused, narrative, person-centred, humanistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-based methods. This flexibility allows sessions to include reflection, emotional processing, cognitive restructuring, communication practice, behavioural strategies, or caregiver guidance depending on what you need. At CARESPACE Hespeler Road, Momna can also coordinate with other regulated practitioners when your mental health is connected to sleep, pain, movement, nutrition, or other areas of well-being. Collaboration is always guided by your goals, comfort, and consent, so the care remains personal rather than fragmented.

Her graduate education, trauma training, and years of behavioural work give your care both warmth and clinical precision

Momna completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University after studying Applied Psychology in Human Behaviour and Psychology at McMaster University, where her education also included interdisciplinary community engagement. This foundation gives her a strong understanding of cognition, behaviour, relationships, development, and the social contexts that shape emotional health.

Her professional experience includes psychotherapy with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families; trauma-focused work related to sexual violence and domestic abuse; suicide-risk evaluation; intake assessment; treatment planning; and interdisciplinary case consultation. She has completed training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and LivingWorks safeTALK suicide alertness, along with education related to gender-based violence, privacy, and clinical safety. Before and alongside her psychotherapy work, Momna spent several years supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder through applied behaviour analysis, one-to-one skill building, data-informed programming, and collaboration with Board Certified Behaviour Analysts. That combination helps her bring warmth to complex emotions while still looking carefully at patterns, context, and what can be practised between sessions.

Whether you come with your partner, for yourself, or for your child, Momna helps turn distress into clearer communication, stronger coping, and healthier connection

Couples often seek therapy when arguments repeat, trust has been shaken, emotional distance is growing, or major decisions feel impossible to make together. Momna helps you and your partner slow down reactive cycles, hear the need underneath the conflict, and practise more direct, respectful communication. The work is not about deciding who is right. It is about understanding how each of you responds under stress, identifying patterns that weaken connection, and building skills that can support repair, boundaries, shared decision-making, and a more secure relationship. When separation or divorce is already part of the situation, therapy can also provide structure for difficult conversations and help you move through change with greater clarity.

As an adult woman, you may be carrying responsibilities that leave little room for your own needs. Momna supports concerns such as anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, trauma, loneliness, relationship stress, perinatal or postpartum adjustment, motherhood, identity, and cultural or family expectations. Her approach makes room for the complexity of loving your family or community while also needing boundaries, autonomy, rest, or a stronger sense of self. Through trauma-informed reflection and practical strategies, you can begin recognizing unhelpful beliefs, responding to emotions with more steadiness, and making choices that feel more aligned with who you are.

When you are seeking support for your child or teenager, Momna brings psychotherapy experience with ages five to nineteen and a substantial background in behavioural therapy. She can help with anxiety, depression, ADHD-related concerns, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social skills, behavioural challenges, and family stress. Sessions may involve developmentally appropriate conversation, structured activities, coping practice, or caregiver guidance. Because she has worked collaboratively with caregivers, educators, and behaviour specialists, she understands that progress is strengthened when the adults around a child share clear, realistic strategies. You receive support for the immediate concern while also learning how to create more predictable communication, reinforce emerging skills, and respond to difficult moments without losing connection.

You do not have to wait for the same patterns to become harder—one conversation can begin meaningful change

Book your first appointment with Momna today and begin replacing confusion, conflict, or worry with a clearer understanding of what is happening and practical steps forward.
