Dr. Heather Bohez, BSc, ND

You deserve time to connect the dots, and Dr. Heather Bohez brings decades of experience to that conversation.

You may be trying to improve your energy, sleep, or day-to-day wellbeing without knowing which advice deserves your attention. You want time to explain what is happening and a plan that makes sense. Dr. Heather Bohez, BSc, ND, brings more than two decades of naturopathic practice to that conversation at CARESPACE Health+Wellness’s Victoria North clinic.

Through naturopathic medicine in Kitchener, she takes a whole-person approach that considers your symptoms alongside nutrition, movement, sleep, and behavioural health. Her aim is to help you understand possible contributing factors rather than leave you sorting through disconnected recommendations.

You can explore natural treatment options without being asked to choose sides between naturopathic and conventional medicine. Heather values evidence-informed, integrative care, with attention to the medications you already take and the goals that matter to you. The starting point is not a perfect lifestyle; it is an honest, unhurried conversation about where you are right now.

You can bring a broad range of concerns without being reduced to one symptom.

Dr. Heather Bohez, BSc, ND, provides comprehensive naturopathic care within her professional scope, drawing on experience across different ages and stages of life. Whether you are seeking support for physical discomfort, struggling to feel rested, or trying to make health-supporting changes, your care is considered in the context of your overall wellbeing.

Within that general practice, two aspects stand out: her practical focus on nutrition, activity, sleep, and behavioural health, and her use of naturopathic bodywork. Her hands-on work incorporates massage techniques, with cupping or acupuncture considered when appropriate and requested.

Her perspective also extends beyond the treatment room. Experience as a school principal, clinic director, athlete, and coach brings an appreciation of the responsibilities and routines your health plan needs to fit.

Your care starts with the whole picture and becomes a plan you can use.

Your appointment with Heather gives you space to describe more than your most troublesome symptom. You can talk about what you eat, how you move, how you sleep, and what makes change difficult. That conversation places your concerns in the context of your daily life rather than treating each one as a completely separate problem.

Her approach to naturopathic medicine combines whole-person assessment with evidence-informed planning and clear communication. She considers how proposed treatments fit with your existing care and medications, so you can discuss options with an understanding of their purpose and relevant safety considerations.

At CARESPACE Victoria North in Kitchener, this approach sits within a coordinated, multidisciplinary care model. When another discipline is appropriate, additional support can complement your naturopathic plan rather than operate in isolation. Your preferences, priorities, and ability to follow through matter. The aim is a workable next step, not an overwhelming list of changes.

Heather brings scientific education, clinical leadership, and professional assessment experience to your care.

Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 1993 and her diploma in naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000. Together, these qualifications bring scientific study and naturopathic education to her interest in how physical health, behaviour, and daily routines intersect.

Her experience includes private practice, leadership at Affinity Health Clinic in New Hamburg, and work as a Peer and Practice Assessor for the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. That combination connects individual care with experience in clinic operations and professional standards.

Her background also includes an internship and pre- and postnatal support at Anishnawbe Health Centre, alongside continuing education in Indigenous end-of-life care, diversity and inclusion, and unconscious bias. These experiences add context to a career spanning healthcare, education, and community involvement. You meet a practitioner whose perspective has developed through both clinical practice and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Practical habit changes and hands-on bodywork bring two dimensions to your care.

Alongside broad naturopathic care, Heather places particular emphasis on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and behavioural health. When you are tired, uncomfortable, or finding it difficult to change your routine, being told to “live healthier” is not much of a plan. Her focus is on connecting those broad ideas to choices you can realistically make.

That might mean discussing how to include more fruit and vegetables, make hydration more consistent, find room for movement, or create a more settled evening routine. These are examples of possible starting points, not a fixed program you must follow. Your priorities may be as concrete as feeling more rested in the morning, having energy for an activity you enjoy, or making meals feel less haphazard. Together, you can use those priorities to define what meaningful progress would look like in your day-to-day life.

Her hands-on naturopathic bodywork adds another dimension when physical discomfort is part of what brings you in. Heather uses massage techniques within her naturopathic practice and may include cupping or acupuncture when requested and appropriate. You can discuss what an option involves, how it fits your preferences, and whether it belongs in your broader care plan.

This is not a choice between talking about your health and paying attention to how your body feels. The two can sit together. Her approach makes room for immediate concerns while keeping sight of your routines, existing medical care, and longer-term goals. You do not need to be an athlete, follow a particular diet, or arrive with a perfectly organized health story to begin.

Motherhood, basketball, and her First Nation roots are part of the person you meet.

Heather is from Millbrook First Nation in Nova Scotia and has raised two sons with her husband. Her basketball background includes five seasons at the University of Victoria and time with Canada’s junior and senior national teams, followed by years of community coaching in basketball and soccer. Having grown up with naturopathic medicine, she also describes healthy and spiritual living as something she practises as best she can—a human perspective to bring to conversations about your own habits.
