Aella Rose, BA (Hons), MA, RP (Qualifying)
You’ve been holding it together on the outside, and Aella Rose gives you a place where you no longer have to do that alone
When anxiety keeps your mind running, old experiences keep echoing into the present, or burnout has made you feel numb instead of strong, what you need most is not more pressure to “manage better.” You need a therapist who can help you feel safe enough to exhale. If you’re looking for counselling in Waterloo, Aella Rose, BA (Hons), MA, RP (Qualifying), offers a calm, compassionate space where you can stop performing that you’re fine and start understanding what you’ve been carrying.Whether you think of support as counselling, therapy, or psychotherapy, the fit matters. You want someone who can meet you with warmth, but also with real skill. You want to feel understood without being rushed, analyzed from a distance, or pushed to open up before trust exists. Aella’s work is especially meaningful if you’re the one who is used to coping, helping, producing, or staying strong for everyone else while feeling increasingly overwhelmed underneath it all. With her, you are invited to slow down, speak honestly, and begin making sense of what feels tangled — so you can move toward more safety, more self-trust, and more clarity.
Aella Rose, BA (Hons), MA, RP (Qualifying), offers broad, thoughtful therapy with extra depth where anxiety, trauma, and burnout tend to get missed
Aella Rose, BA (Hons), MA, RP (Qualifying), is a psychotherapist who provides comprehensive care for a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns. You can see her for stress, depression, grief, panic, self-esteem struggles, life transitions, relationship patterns, emotional regulation, workplace stress, substance-related concerns, and more. At the same time, she brings particular depth to anxiety, trauma, and the quiet burnout that can develop when you have been surviving on responsibility, hyper-independence, and sheer willpower for too long. What makes Aella especially effective is the combination of formal psychotherapy training and years of front-line community work supporting people through complex, real-life challenges. She has worked with those facing mental health concerns, addiction, abuse, homelessness, poverty, disability, and social isolation, which means she understands that distress does not happen in a vacuum. It shows up in your nervous system, your relationships, your work, your sense of self, and the ways you have learned to get through the day. You will also find an affirming, respectful space here if you are an adult seeking LGBTQ2+ inclusive therapy.
Your sessions with Aella are designed to feel grounded, collaborative, and respectful of your pace from the very first conversation
Your first sessions with Aella are not about being hurried into a label or expected to tell your whole story before you feel ready. They are about understanding what is happening for you now, what has shaped you, what is no longer working, and what healing would actually look like in your life. You can expect thoughtful questions, deep listening, and a pace that respects both your goals and your nervous system.Aella draws from a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, compassion-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, trauma-focused CBT, family systems therapy, and solution-focused work. In practice, that means your counselling sessions can be tailored to what you need most: practical tools for managing anxiety, support with emotional regulation, a gentler relationship with yourself, insight into patterns in relationships, or space to process what has happened without feeling overwhelmed by it.
You may notice quickly that Aella’s presence feels calming and grounded. That matters, because therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be real. At CARESPACE, your care can also be coordinated within a broader, evidence-based team model when needed, so support can reflect the full picture of your wellbeing rather than just one isolated symptom. Sessions are available both in person and virtually.
Her training and real-world experience help her see not just your symptoms, but the story and survival patterns underneath them
Aella completed her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Waterloo. That academic background gives her a strong foundation in human behaviour, evidence-based treatment, and the complex relationship between mental health and the systems people move through. Her directed study on mental health training in law enforcement and mental health policy in Canada also reflects a deeper interest in how lived experience and larger systems intersect. Before stepping fully into her current psychotherapy role at CARESPACE, Aella built substantial clinical and community experience through her work at Alli Therapy, where she handled intakes, case conceptualization, treatment planning, goal setting, and ongoing one-to-one therapy. She also served as Program Coordinator with the W.A.G.E.S. program at YWKW and as Supervisor of Housing at oneROOF Youth Services, supporting people through mental health struggles, addiction, abuse, crisis, housing instability, and profound life stress.
Her additional professional development includes training in EMDR foundations, intergenerational trauma, the neurobiology of addiction, developmental trauma and PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, de-escalation, suicide intervention, and 2SLGBTQIA+ support. She was also recognized with a Field Instructor of the Year award, reflecting the quality of care, leadership, and mentorship she brings to her work.
When anxiety, trauma, or quiet burnout have started to shape your whole life, Aella helps you feel safer, clearer, and more like yourself again
You may be functioning well on paper and still feel like you are falling apart inside. You may keep showing up at work, answering texts, taking care of everyone else, and getting through your responsibilities while privately dealing with racing thoughts, panic, irritability, numbness, exhaustion, shame, or the constant sense that your body never fully relaxes. You may call it stress, but deep down you know it is more than that. You feel on edge. You overthink. You people-please. You push through. You crash. Then you do it all again. That is where Aella’s depth in anxiety, trauma, and quiet burnout becomes especially important. She understands that trauma does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like perfectionism, emotional shutdown, hypervigilance, difficulty trusting, over-responsibility, or the belief that you must keep it together no matter what it costs you. Sometimes burnout is not loud at all. It is the gradual loss of joy, softness, energy, and connection to yourself. In this work, Aella helps you understand both the symptoms you can name and the protective patterns that have been running in the background for years. Depending on your needs, therapy may involve trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness-based strategies, compassion-focused work, ACT, DBT tools, or exploring relationship patterns through interpersonal and family systems lenses. The goal is not to force disclosure or make you relive pain before you are ready. The goal is to help you feel safer in your body, clearer in your thoughts, steadier in your emotions, and more confident in your boundaries and choices.
While Aella brings exceptional depth to these areas, her practice is not limited to them. You can also work with her for broader support with depression, grief, self-esteem, relationship concerns, emotional regulation, workplace stress, and major life transitions. If you are seeking thoughtful, evidence-based care at CARESPACE Weber North, Aella offers therapy that honours your full story while helping you build a life that feels more manageable, more connected, and more like your own.
