Angelica Michanos, BASc, MSc

Whether you’re experiencing low motivation, struggling with confidence, navigating adversity, or facing barriers within your sport that feel overwhelming, Angelica is here to help. She works collaboratively with athletes to develop personalized, practical plans that foster resilience, build mental strength, and unlock optimal performance. Using evidence based techniques and working collaboratively with other disciplines within the clinic, Angelica will work with all parties to develop an individualized tailored plan.

Angelica brings a uniquely empathetic and informed perspective to her work. As a former competitive athlete, she understands firsthand the physical and emotional toll that injuries and setbacks can take. After experiencing a series of injuries that ultimately made it difficult to continue her elite athletic career, she faced the challenging journey of returning to sport and redefining her path. That pivotal experience inspired her to pursue a career in psychology, with a deep commitment to supporting athletes through similar challenges.

She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Behaviour from McMaster University, where her research focused on student-athlete well-being. She further expanded her expertise with a Post Graduate Certificate in Brain Disorder Management from Mohawk College, followed by a Master of Science in Applied Sport Psychology from University of Winchester.

Dedicated to continuous growth and professional excellence, Angelica is currently completing the required hours toward her Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) accreditation with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and is registered as an Apprentice Mental Performance Consultant with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA). She is mentored by two active CMPC professionals in the field, further strengthening her applied practice and ensuring athletes receive quality support.

Angelica is passionate about empowering athletes to perform at their best, build lasting confidence, and become the strongest version of themselves.
