When neck or back pain changes your day, Dr. Cindy Lam helps you find your next step.
You may be tired of thinking about your neck every time you turn your head, or your back every time you sit down, stand up, or reach for something. You deserve care that takes those frustrations seriously and helps you understand what to do next. Dr. Cindy Lam, BSc, DC brings a down-to-earth approach to
chiropractic care in Kitchener at CARESPACE Deer Ridge, combining hands-on treatment with education and active rehabilitation.
Her guiding idea is simple: this is your health journey. You are in the driver’s seat, and she is there to help you navigate—not to take away your choices. Your goals, comfort, and understanding matter throughout the process.
With clinical training at St. Michael’s Hospital and South Riverdale Community Health Centre, Dr. Lam has learned to consider the person behind the symptoms. Whether you are looking for support with neck pain, mid-back discomfort, low back pain, or another musculoskeletal concern, her aim is to help you feel informed, involved, and more confident in the way forward.
You get comprehensive chiropractic care from someone who wants you to understand your body.
Dr. Cindy Lam, BSc, DC provides general chiropractic care for adults and older adults, with particular clinical interests in neck, mid-back, and low back concerns. Her practice also addresses broader muscle, joint, and movement-related needs, including support for headaches and migraines where chiropractic care is appropriate. Custom orthotics are another service you can discuss when relevant to your needs.
Her approach combines an evidence-informed foundation with clear, compassionate communication. Rather than viewing hands-on treatment and exercise as separate options, she brings them into a plan shaped around what you need and what you hope to achieve.
That may mean working toward greater comfort at your desk, returning to an activity you enjoy, or making everyday movement feel more manageable. You are encouraged to ask questions and participate in decisions, so your care makes sense to you—not just during an appointment, but when you return to your day.
Cindy combines hands-on care, practical rehabilitation, and coordinated support around your goals.
Care starts with listening: what you are experiencing, how it affects your routine, and what you would like to change. Cindy considers your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and priorities as she develops an individualized plan with you. Her emphasis on education means explaining the reasoning behind recommendations, not simply giving you instructions to follow.
Your
chiropractic care may include spinal manipulative therapy, also called chiropractic adjustments, alongside physical rehabilitation and a home exercise program. Treatment choices are guided by your needs and discussed with you. Your feedback matters, including what feels helpful and what you find challenging.
At
CARESPACE Deer Ridge, this work fits within a coordinated, multidisciplinary model. When another perspective would support your goals, Cindy can collaborate with other CARESPACE practitioners rather than treating your chiropractic care as a separate piece of your health. With your consent, that might include working alongside physiotherapy, kinesiology, or massage therapy. The purpose is shared direction: recommendations that support one another and keep your priorities at the centre.
Hospital and community training taught Cindy to look beyond the place that hurts.
Cindy earned her Bachelor of Science, with a Biology minor, at the University of Waterloo in 2020 before completing her Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2025. That education and her clinical placements underpin an approach that considers both your musculoskeletal concerns and your broader health needs.
During her internship at St. Michael’s Hospital, she worked alongside physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers. That experience reinforced the value of different professional perspectives when your health concerns are complex. At South Riverdale Community Health Centre, she developed individualized plans that included in-clinic physical rehabilitation and home exercises—experience that continues to inform how she connects treatment with what you do between appointments.
Her additional training includes Adverse Childhood Experiences education, First Aid, and CPR-C. Earlier work on a distress line and in disability-support settings also strengthened her commitment to listening carefully and communicating with empathy. You bring your own history into the room; Cindy’s approach makes space for it.
Your neck, mid-back, and low back goals are connected to the life you want to get back to.
Alongside general chiropractic care, Cindy has a particular interest in helping you manage neck, mid-back, and low back concerns. These areas matter not simply because they hurt, but because discomfort can influence how you work, rest, exercise, and move through ordinary routines.
For neck and mid-back concerns, your goals might include turning your head with greater ease, getting through computer work more comfortably, or reaching without constantly noticing stiffness. Cindy’s approach connects your description of the problem with an individualized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, care may draw on spinal manipulative therapy, manual treatment, rehabilitation exercises, and education. The focus is on understanding your symptoms and choosing practical steps that support the movements you want to improve.
For low back concerns, you may be looking for more confidence with bending, lifting, walking, or getting up from a chair. Rather than making your plan only about what happens during an appointment, Cindy connects hands-on care with an active role in your rehabilitation. Her experience developing home exercise programs helps her turn your goals into something you can work on between visits.
Progress should be relevant to your life. Your goals might be spending more time on your feet comfortably, returning to a favourite activity, or feeling less hesitant about everyday movement. Those goals give your care a practical direction, while your individual circumstances help guide the next steps. Cindy’s broader aim is to give you both professional support and the knowledge to make informed choices about your musculoskeletal health.
Away from the clinic, Cindy brings curiosity, community involvement, and a sense of humour.
Cindy’s interest in education extends to her involvement with the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario, where she has helped raise awareness about bone and joint health. Outside work, she enjoys reading, settling into a good series, and playing racquet sports. She also loves spending time with her dog, who remains decidedly unimpressed by her affection. It is a glimpse of the approachable, down-to-earth person you will meet in the clinic.
