About Monika

The ebbs and flows of life can be difficult to navigate, and you deserve to not go it alone. With Monika (she/her), you can expect to be met with warmth, compassion, and wholeheartedness, as you discuss your hopes, dreams, fears, and goals, at your own pace. She works collaboratively with clients, believing that each person is the expert in their own life, and aims to meet you where you’re at with a nonjudgmental and non-pathologizing approach. She has experience supporting individuals with depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, and other challenging life experiences. As a queer person, she is also passionate about supporting individuals of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Monika uses a holistic and trauma-informed lens, meaning that she understands how trauma and the environments we live in can affect our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science in Population Medicine from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, she understands the interconnected nature of health and wellness through mind, body, and spirit. Monika uses an eclectic approach to meet your unique needs, informed by a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. Overall, she aims to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered to tune into your own wisdom, reach your goals, and create a life worth living.
