About Dahlia

Past experiences in life have taught Dahlia that many individuals want someone to simply listen to and journey with them as they navigate their personal challenges and issues. Dahlia aims to be that listening ear and individual who can support clients along their difficulty journey towards a place of hope through meeting clients where they are in their life with non-judgement and compassion. She strives to create a culturally supportive and safe environment to help clients develop resilience and positive coping skills to live their best lives through managing and overcoming their struggles and hardships. She believes that everyone’s pathway to healing is different and therefore she tailors her therapeutic techniques and strategies in collaboration with the CARESPACE team to best align with clients’ personal needs and goals. She uses a variety of modalities in her treatment planning such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Dahlia offers psychotherapy services to teens and adults and her specialty lies in helping those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, body issues, daily life stress and transitions, trauma, and grief to name a few. Dahlia holds an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto and an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioral Science from George Brown College. She completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Liberty University in Virginia in the United States. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, a crisis responder with the Kids Help Phone, and a student member of both the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the American Counselling Association.
