Lab Testing

Food Sensitivity IgG Test

Food sensitivities can be a factor in many health concerns such as chronic fatigue, migraines, digestive difficulties, skin conditions and chronic pain. In delayed allergic reactions to food, IgG antibodies are produced. The RMA-FST tests for the presence of these antibodies. It currently tests for over 120 different foods, including herbs and spices. Requisitions for this test are provided by your naturopathic doctor. Blood samples may be drawn at any LifeLabs location.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (for Body Composition)

The BIA is a clinical assessment of hydration, muscle mass and fat mass in the body. This is an important tool for monitoring weight management, anti-aging, and athletic performance. This test is performed in our office.

Blood Tests (various)

Under the current provincial regulations, naturopath doctors in Ontario are authorized to requisition 133 separate blood tests, like ferritin and vitamin B12. Naturopathic patients take completed paperwork to LifeLabs for the blood draw and then can discuss the results in their subsequent visit.

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth can be the cause of various symptoms including gassiness, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation.  In more severe cases, it can lead to weight loss and nutrient deficiencies. The non-invasive SIBO breath test can be performed at home with supplies provided in our office.  It provides valuable information which helps in determining the most effective treatment.

Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones

The dutch® urine steroid hormone profile measures hormones and hormone metabolites (called conjugates) in a dried urine sample. Measuring both hormones and their metabolites can give a better overall picture of hormone production. Urine samples are collected onto paper. Collection is easy to do at home or on the go.
