Effective treatment for ACL tears

There are many causes of ACL tears
Common causes of ACL tears are instances of trauma, such as a hard hit to the side of the knee, sudden stops or sharp turns, or landing awkwardly after jumping. Many times, these injures are caused by a combination of weak hamstrings and tight quadriceps muscles which lead to increased pressure on the ligaments and can prevent proper coordination during sporting motions. Depending on the severity of the tear, chiropractic care, physiotherapy sessions, and massage therapy may be used in tandem to help reduce swelling while allowing for re-stabilization of the affected knee. If you are experiencing any discomfort in your knees and suspect an ACL tear has occurred, it is important to see a chiropractor right away as delayed diagnosis may impair proper healing.

An Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear is a relatively common knee injury among athletes, typically from a sudden directional change or direct contact to the knee. The ACL is an important ligament that is located in the middle of the knee and provides stability for the knee joint. A tear can occur when the ligament is over-stretched or if it experiences a direct hit. Depending on the severity of the tear, symptoms range from mild instability to complete rupture of the ligament.
Symptoms of an ACL tear include immediate and severe pain that often requires a person to stop their activity right away. While some acute knee injuries can cause the knee to swell immediately, an ACL tear may not create noticeable swelling until after several hours or even days. The affected area may also feel weak and unstable when weight is applied, such as when attempting to stand or walk. Individuals with an ACL tear may also hear a “pop” sound at the time of injury due to the tearing of the major ligament in the knee.
When it comes to treatment of an ACL tear, there are a number of professional treatments that can be explored. Of the most common treatments, chiropractic care is often recommended as chiropractors are able to assess muscles and joint health, detect potential irritants and help promote healing. Physiotherapy can then be used to help alleviate pain, correct any strength deficiencies and improve range of motion–all important elements when regaining top physical form. Finally, massage therapy may also be beneficial in reducing inflammation associated with ACL tears and speed up the rehabilitation process; massage therapy helps increase blood flow for improved healing. All three of these treatments can prove beneficial, so those looking for relief from an ACL tear should consult their chiropractor or health care professional for advice on which path may be best for them.

I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Webster for a few months and I've been feeling much better. I had sever knee, shoulder and back pain. I couldn't squat or do push ups without my joints screaming at me. But now I'm not able to only do all those but also feel stronger. The most important piece is that she listened and took my history of many injuries into consideration. And as a dancer, I couldn't have asked for a better chiropractor who not only helped me feel better but also understood my needs.
I also brought my grandmother to Dr. Torreiter for her back pain for acupuncture. He was extremely kind, understanding, compassionate and everything that I could ask for. He made her feel comfortable and explained every step during each treatment. He made sure that she was well taken care of and also made other important referrals that lead to her recovery.
So far I have referred my whole family to these two wonderful individuals and everyone's experience has been equally great. Thanks to them we all are doing much better!
